All laced up

Today is an original (sort of). I have seen this upward weaving on a couple of sites and added my own twist. I sectioned off a top piece from ear to ear and tied it off to use later.
Then I laced up from the bottom (I did 3 rows). Then left it in pigtails.

Then I took the top section and separated it into 4 pieces. I crossed the two middle pieces and added them to the ponytail (don't attach it yet, just hold it). Then take remaining side pieces and add them in. I know it sounds confusing. I hope this picture gives you a better idea of what I did.
This picture gives you and idea of how I added in the top sections.

It looks complicated but it actually only took about 10 minutes and was pretty easy. I love it because it keeps M's hair out of her face.

Ribbons!!!

I LOVE this one. It is so fun and you can use some super cute ribbons! It's funny because this one looks very 4th of July, even though it's almost October :) Credits and instructions are HERE.
I braided the remaining ribbon into the hair did some braided piggies. Super cute!

Church 'do

I wish I would have tried these sooner. It turned out so cute!!
It's so easy. You make two pigtail braids. Then take the end of one and slip it under the hairband on the other side. Then do the same with the other. Adds some bows or flowers and you have a quick updo that looks fancy!

Cheese!!

Hawser Braid

Today we did a hawser braid. It looks really complicated but it is SO easy. We did two flips in the front to keep back her bangs.

Here's an up close look at the braid.

Here's a link to the instructions, courtesy of "Babes in Hairland".

We needed an easy hair'do today so we went to an old favorite. Quick and easy.

Another sideways shot...sorry.

Father's Day updo

M choose this hairstyle for church today. For credits and instructions, click HERE. It turned out really cute and we got alot of compliments.

It's just piggies with a section on the top seperated into three small pull throughs. Then ribbon is wrapped around the three sections and added to the piggies.

Sunshine Weaving

Today is going to be so nice, so M is all dressed up in sunshine yellow! I just did Weaving on each side then joined them for two piggies. We made them into messy buns and added fun hair bows.

Side and top views.

Back view of the messy buns (and a messy living room).
Ready for a day in the sun!

Twisting and Weaving

I saw this one on the 'princess and her hair' blog and wanted to try it. It turned out okay. Not as smooth as I would like, but cute none the less.

I left some hair in the front to make a headband effect and brought them down the sides and tied them back with the ponies.

P.S While we were out, we got alot of compliments on this hair do. Everyone thought it was so fancy and cute.

Our hair adventures so far

I've decided to document all of the hairstyles we try. Here is what we have created so far (in no particular order). Some are originals, others come from the websites that can be found on the side bar.

I also make some of her flowers and hair bows. In the future, I might post some pictures of those, too.

This one is a little hard to see, sorry.

Triple ponies with messy buns. This is the very first one we did. I loved her bangs! But she has since decided to grow them out.

This is what it looks like with no buns.

A fancy church 'do with a flower. It's one of my favorites.

This one is fun. We've done another variation that has LOTS of little puffy braids.

This one is called the "Easter Basket". We did it for Easter, of course:)

We do this one alot. It is nice for windy days.

This is a "puffy braid headband". It was great for keeping the hair out of her eyes.

C wanted his hair done, too. So here's the "spike".

This is another one great for windy days. They are called "twists" or "corkscrews", depending on who you talk to.
